What is the Leon A. McCarty Youth Sports Foundation?

What does the Sports Foundation do?
The Sports Foundation provides grant funding to assist local youths in paying the various registration fees associated with school, league or community organization sports programs.

Who can receive a grant?
Children and Youths living in Sacramento, City council District 6 are eligible to receive grants.  Priority is given to those who participate in the free school lunch program.  To check if you live in District 6, Click Here.

How much are grants for?
The Leon A. McCarty Sports Foundation will issue grants of up to $100 per youth, per year.  Grant checks are written to the youth's sports organization to help pay for registration and associated fees.

How do I get (my child) a grant?
It's easy! First Click Here, or on the "Application" link above.  Then print the form that comes up, fill it out, and mail it back.  If you have any difficulty, feel free to call or email us.
